Having grinding noise on HP LaserJet M601

  • Hello, there is grinding noise on HP LaserJet M601 printer, can you help me out?

  • One common failure part on the HP LaserJet M602, M602, M603 series is the fuser drive assembly. Usually you will hear a grinding-type noise coming from the rear of the printer.

Often, the noise becomes more obvious when a new fuser is installed, because the gears on the new fuser do not mesh well with the worn-out gears in your printer.
For those of you familiar with printer repair, the installation steps for these gears will be similar to replacing the swing plate on the LaserJet 4250/4350 series printers.

You can purchase the gear kit to fix it.
